Add Watermark to PDF

Stamp a text watermark on every page of your PDF — fully private

Processed in your browser — 100% private

Watermarking a PDF signals its status — DRAFT, CONFIDENTIAL, SAMPLE, INTERNAL USE ONLY — and discourages casual redistribution. Our tool overlays a custom text watermark on every page of your PDF in your browser. Control opacity, position and repetition to match the context: a bold tiled watermark for drafts, a subtle corner watermark for shared reports. No upload, no account.

How to watermark a PDF

  1. Drop your PDF into the window.
  2. Enter the watermark text, pick opacity and a placement preset.
  3. Click "Apply Watermark" and download the watermarked PDF.

Supported formats

Input: any standard PDF. Output: PDF with watermark baked into each page.

Watermark PDF — Frequently asked questions

Can I watermark only some pages?
Currently the watermark is applied to every page. For partial watermarking, split the PDF first, watermark only the pages you need, then merge.
Will the watermark be removable?
Our watermark is rendered as part of the page content, not as metadata. A determined attacker could still obscure it locally — no PDF watermark is tamper-proof.
Does watermarking affect file size?
Slightly — only by the size of the watermark text glyphs added to each page, typically a few KB regardless of page count.
Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?
No. Watermarking happens entirely in your browser via pdf-lib.
